The Chai Kingdom is the last world in Super Mario Land.
The Game itself is pretty interesting, and I still like to play it sometimes. Since it was an early Game for the Game Boy, it lacks of a huge soundtrack and the melodies are rather minimalistic. Which makes them more interesting to me.
In fact, Game Boy Melodies are – to me – real art, it is amazing how expressive some of them are, though the limits of the Game Boy’s sound system.
So is the Melody of the Chai Kingdom. It is no great orchestral melody, just a little sequence of tones, but it actually sounds „asian“, which it should do. Actually, me and the people I knew to that time always called the first level using this melody „Chinesenlevel“ (chinese level). Well, it was hard to find on YouTube, but here it is. Enjoy!
